This is a tribute of sorts to my sister. Not only is she a wife, mother, my sister and best friend but she is one of the hardest working women I know. She runs the Guffey Farm. It may be a little farm compared to some but she pours her heart and soul into it.
I talk to my sister daily. Usually by messenger via Facebook. Our conversation usually goes something like this. I send a random message about my blog or something and it’s followed by…..” sorry I was out feeding the goats, fixing something, or picking vegetables from the garden.” Never a dull moment.
I don’t know of anything she doesn’t know how to do. Unless it’s something to do with computers! Ha-ha… I have to tease her. Seriously though she knows a lot and if she doesn’t she will figure it out. My Dad used to say between him and my Grandpa they knew everything. What he didn’t know his dad did. I feel the same way about my sister. If I don’t know I’m sure she does.
Let me stop myself because I can go on and on about how amazing my sister is!
The stars of the farm
My beautiful sister Crystal and I have no idea who that man is. Just kidding that’s the love of her life Jeff. ( some stories I could tell you about that one!) No, really he’s a good guy and a lot of fun to be around.
This is where it all happens.
Fence they put up for the raspberries.
The garden. Or where crystal can be found when ignoring my messages! 🙂 This is where I get all my wonderful fresh okra, green beans, peppers, and chilies from. I had green chili sauce for a year. Need some more BTW.( Just a hint there for you) Best green sauce ever! She smokes the chilies herself.
The herbs
Members of the Guffey Farm
Chicken coupe from recycled materials. Nothing goes to waste.
Mom and Dad. Billy and Annabelle.
The kids. Starla and Magpie
Magpie…….just too cute not to include!
Guffey Babies
The girls. Sophie and Nala
The boys. Tink (Tinkertoy) and Pico.
Even though my sister never has a moment something doesn’t need to be done. You know you can always count on her in a time of need. Whether it be helping a stranded animal, offering food to someone in hard times, or just being there to listen. I can honestly say she is my best friend.
To Crystal,
I appreciate you and love you more than words can say. (Stop crying) 🙂
Love,
P
Lovely shots. It is making me want to order a fresh salad.

It is good to see 2 sisters get along so well and it is a lovely living tribute to her and the way you feel about her. I lost my favorite sister in 2007 and we were very close I miss her her day but I still a few more sisters left but somehow the closeness isn’t the same. Hold on to what you have and be blessed with that. ❤ Your friend Red Sox Lady 35/LighthouseKat

What a wonderful post about your sister Crystal. Love that “simpler” life where you grow much of your own food. Very fulfilling and a healthy lifestyle.
And awesome to have her friendship and support to those around her, making the world a much better place! 🙂

I love my sisters too. We are all very close even though we don’t live near each other. That’s why we started a blog together 🙂 Love these pics from the farm – the goats are the cutest!!
